A total of 1265 posts of Clerks are announced – 1015 existing vacancies as on 31.12.2025 and 250 anticipated vacancies up to 30.06.2026. These are distributed category-wise as per Haryana Government reservation norms including backlog vacancies being advertised for the 2nd and 3rd time. Haryana High Court Clerk Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

Selection is through a 3-stage process: Online Written Examination (Computer Based Test) → Computer Proficiency Test (qualifying) → Checking of Original Testimonials / Interaction. The final Select List is prepared strictly on the basis of merit in the Written Examination (CBT) only. Computer Proficiency Test marks are NOT counted in the final merit. Success in examination confers no right of appointment unless the Competent Authority is satisfied after enquiry.

Stage 1 – Online Written Examination / Computer Based Test (CBT)

The CBT is conducted online (Computer Based Test format) in the following subjects. The exam may be held on different dates for different sets of candidates (multiple shifts). Normalization of objective scores using Standard Deviation Method will be applied if exam is held in multiple shifts.

Negative Marking: 1/4th mark deducted for every wrong answer in MCQ portion. Questions not attempted receive no credit or penalty. Subjective English Composition will be typed on computer within the stipulated time.

Tie-break Rule: If two or more candidates obtain same marks, the elder in age is ranked higher. If age is also same, candidates are placed alphabetically (A to Z) in the merit list.

Answer Key & Objections: Provisional Answer Key will be uploaded on www.sssc.gov.in after CBT. Candidates can raise objections at Rs. 25/- per objection (non-refundable). Cross-objections against proposed changes in provisional answer key are also allowed. Objections/cross-objections must include proposed correct answer and supporting reasons with documentary proof.

Stage 2 – Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) – Qualifying Nature Only

After CBT results, a category-wise determined number of candidates will be called for CPT. CPT marks are NOT counted in final merit – it is purely qualifying in nature.

PwBD Exemption from CPT: PwBD with Both Arms Affected (BA) can apply for full exemption from CPT with Disability Certificate. PwBD as defined under Section 2(r) of RPwD Act, 2016 can apply for CPT exemption with Disability Certificate + Medical Certificate from CMO/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government healthcare institution certifying physical limitation to type at 30 WPM. PwBD under Section 2(s) of RPwD Act can apply for exemption with Medical Certificate only. All such applications must be submitted within 15 days of declaration of CBT result.

Stage 3 – Checking of Original Testimonials / Interaction

Candidates who qualify both CBT and CPT (category-wise as decided by the High Court) will be called for checking of original testimonials/interaction. No TA/DA shall be paid for appearing at any stage of the recruitment process including this stage. The Select List will be prepared strictly on the basis of CBT merit.

Who should NOT apply for Haryana High Court Clerk Recruitment 2026?

  • Candidates who do not hold a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc or equivalent) from a recognized university – it is the mandatory minimum educational qualification.
  • Candidates who have not passed Matriculation with Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects, AND have not done +2/BA/MA with Hindi as one of the subjects – both the degree AND the Hindi/Sanskrit condition must be fulfilled by 23-06-2026.
  • Candidates who are not bonafide residents of Haryana – reservation benefits (category, age relaxation, fee concession) are available only to Haryana residents with valid Haryana Government-issued certificates. Non-Haryana reserved category candidates must apply under General category.
  • Candidates who do not have proficiency in computers (Word Processing and Spread Sheets) – this is a mandatory qualification and is tested in the CPT.
  • Candidates above 42 years of age as on 01.01.2026 (for General category), except those eligible for specific age relaxation as per the rules – overall age cap is 52 years for most relaxation categories.
  • Candidates who have already married a person having a living spouse, or who (having a living spouse) have married another person – unless the Hon’ble High Court has specifically exempted such marriage under applicable personal law.
  • In-service Government employees who cannot produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Office or Department when called – failure to produce NOC will result in cancellation of candidature.
  • Candidates who cannot or will not commit to working anywhere in the State of Haryana – a mandatory undertaking to this effect must be given in the Online Application Form.
  • Candidates who entered incorrect information in the application – all particulars are sacrosanct after submission and no change is permitted at any stage; errors cannot be corrected or explained later.
  • Candidates who are unable to type the English Composition Subjective portion on computer and cannot qualify the CPT Typing Test at 30 WPM (unless eligible for CPT exemption under PwBD provisions).

  • Not verifying Haryana domicile status before applying under a reserved category – benefits of reservation and fee concession are only for bonafide Haryana residents; applicants from other states’ reserved categories must apply under General category.
  • Not checking that both degree qualification AND Hindi/Sanskrit condition are fulfilled before applying – missing either condition will result in disqualification.
  • Filling incorrect category or sub-category in the Online Application Form – all particulars are sacrosanct after submission and no change shall be permitted at any stage of the recruitment process.
  • OBC/BC candidates from Creamy Layer applying under BC reservation – only Non-Creamy Layer candidates (as per Haryana Govt. Notification No. 40/13/2024-1SW dated 16.07.2024) are eligible for BC reservation; Creamy Layer candidates must apply as General.
