SSB Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply Online for 404 Constable GD Posts

Sashastra Seema Bal has announced a total of 404 vacancies for Constable (General Duty) posts under the Sports Quota. The vacancies are available for both male and female sportspersons across multiple disciplines including Athletics, Football, Wrestling, Hockey, Boxing, Volleyball, Archery, and more. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on organizational requirements.

Candidates applying for SSB Constable GD Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 must have passed Matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institute. Along with the educational qualification, applicants must also possess valid sports achievements in recognized competitions as mentioned in the official notification. Only eligible sportspersons can participate in this recruitment process.

Applicants should have represented India in international competitions or won medals in National Championships, Khelo India Games, SGFI events, Inter-University tournaments, or National School Games. Only sports achievements earned during the last two years from the cut-off date will be considered valid for recruitment. Candidates are advised to upload proper sports certificates during the application process.

The minimum age required is 18 years, while the maximum age limit is 23 years as on the closing date of application submission. Age relaxation benefits are available for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and other eligible categories as per Government of India rules. Candidates belonging to UR, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100/-. However, SC, ST, and Female candidates are fully exempted from payment of the application fee. The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

The selection process includes documentation, sports achievement verification, Physical Standard Test (PST), Field Trial or Skill Test, Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and Review Medical Examination (RME). International and National medal winners may be considered under the priority selection stage. Final selection will be based on sports performance, field trial marks, and medical fitness.

Selected candidates will receive salary under Pay Matrix Level-3 with pay scale of Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 along with other allowances admissible to SSB personnel. The post is classified as Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted and Combatised in nature. Additional benefits may include allowances, pension-related benefits, and medical facilities as per government rules.

Male candidates generally require a minimum height of 170 cm and female candidates require 157 cm height, while chest measurement for males should be 80-85 cm. Relaxation in physical standards is available for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the official notification. Candidates must also maintain BMI between 18 and 25.
